The temporary installation on the right side of the building celebrated 100 years of the expansion of the city. In 1920 the City of Eindhoven was confined to its medieval city limits, so the other municipalities were merged into it: Woensel (to the north), Tongelre (northeast and east), Stratum (southeast), Strijp (west) and Gestel en Blaarthem (southwest). Initially it was known as Groot-Eindhoven (the Greater Eindhoven) but the prefix was later dropped. These and the Eindhoven-Centrum are now districts of the city of Eindhoven. Woensel is now divided into two smaller districts, Woensel-Noord and Woensel-Zuid. (previous | next | back to album | 2020:09:23 18:11:57 | 87% of an album)
