As I said before, there used to be a music hall here. But first, there was just a small concert hall in a hotel. By 1850 it was enlarged and changed its name to Moy's Music Hall, after the owner, John Moy. In 1863 it was taken over by Alfred Brown, refurbished and renamed Royal Standard Music Hall. The hotel was demolished in 1886 due to the increasing competition (e.g. a hotel next to the station) and the creation of Victoria Street. The music hall was however rebuilt in 1886.
