Supreme Court of the United Kingdom in the background, Middlesex Guildhall. It is also the building of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. Initially an administrative and court center for Middlesex County, it later served as a Crown Court building, until the establishment of the Supreme Court in the early 21st century. It was opened in 1913. Middlesex County Council was abolished in 1965, when the Greater London was created and the whole county was abolished. The guildhall continued to be used by the Greater London Quarter Sessions and fter the abolition of the Quarter Sessions in 1972, it was used as a Crown Court. It underwent a refurbishment in 2007, that prepaired the building for its current function as the central point of the judicial system in the UK (sort of).
