18 septemberplein (The square of the 18th September), part of the core shopping area in the city and the entrance square to the core city centre (Binnenstad). City of Eindhoven was liberated from the Nazi rule on September 18, 1944, thus the name. The funny thing that this date is celebrated only in the city of Eindhoven, the rest of the Netherlands celebrate on May 5, 1945, when the whole area was liberated by the Allied Forces.
