The so-called Light Tower (Lichttoren), the most well-known high-rise in Eindhoven. It is a heptagonal white tower designed in the functionalist style. It has its form due to the need for a place to conduct endurance test for the lamp factory - they were conducted on the top floor, so the burning lamps could be seen far away at night, thus its name. Philips Lightning division used to have factories and the head office there, however, not it's just a redeveloped residential, work and leisure complex. It was built in parts between 1909 and 1921.
