Deutzer Brücke (Deutz Bridge), built in 1948, is the world's first steel box girder bridge designed by Fritz Leonhardt and Gerd Lohmer. It stands on the location of a self-anchored suspension bridge that was using eyebar chains. It collapsed on 28 February 1945 during repair works.
