Beatrix Theater, owned by the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht and the theater section is leased to Joop van den Ende Theater Productions. The theater now has approximately 1,500 seats and is mainly used for musicals, concerts and other theatrical performances. It can be also used for congresses and conferences. In 1970, the Beatrix Building, designed by architect Rein Fledderus, was opened with a large hall for 1,100 people.[1] From the 1970s until about the turn of the century, the name Jaarbeurs Congrescentrum was used for the building and the indoor hall. In 1998 and 1999, the theater and conference hall and the facade of the Beatrix building on the Jaarbeursplein side were radically renovated to a design by architect Arno Meijs and then received 1130 seats.[2] Also in 2003 a renovation took place.
