The Neudeflat, an apartment building. The tower was designed by architect H.A. Maaskant and was opened in 1961. The building is an example of the theme that was apparent in the city at that time, another part of this trend is Hoog Catharijne and motorways on the part of the canals. A symbol of 1960s modernization or something. With a height of 62 meters and sixteen floors, it was the tallest office tower in the Netherlands at the time. The tower was called Drakenburgh in the early years, a reference to the adjacent medieval city castle Drakenburg. In September 2015, it was announced that the flat will be converted into apartments from the second floor. The renovation was completed in 2017.
