The border between two parts of Benrath is the railway (and their station). The rail line is the one between Köln and Duisburg and the station is called Düsseldorf-Benrath. It is one of three regional hubs in the city of Düsseldorf. The history of the station starts in 1843, when the permission was given to the Köln-Mindener Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft to build a railway line between these two cities. The station has two island platforms, each located between two tracks on the Cologne–Duisburg railway. Two regional express lines stop at the long-distance platform, while the intercity and intercity express travel through at 200 km/h. There are also plenty of S-Bahn trains and Stadtbahn trams. Benrath is also (although its eastern part) a home of a Stadtbahn depot. (previous | next | back to album | 2022:06:03 21:09:36 | 12% of an album)
