Chapter 5 – The Memorial and the Name

Yad Vashem, the most well-known memorial place in Israel, has its name mostly untranslated. Well, it can be translated as a memorial and a name and it comes from Book of Isaiah. Yad means memorial and shem means name, va prefix is a way of saying and in Hebrew. Of course, it is in old Hebrew, so if we change articles to definite and use modern Hebrew, the phrase (which is the Hebrew title of the chapter) changes noticeably.
