Part 3 – Eupen (Ostbelgien)
Another small city (around 20k people), which is the capital of German-speaking Community of Belgium. It used to be a rather small town in the Aachen area (in Rhineland), known for its textile manufacturing, but it obtained a much higher status when it was transferred (with neighbouring Malmedy, which is a part of Ostkantone, but as it was Francophone it remains a part of French Community) from Germany to Belgium by the 1919 Treaty of Versailles.
