Bishopsgate, a street and a ward in the City of London named after one of the eastern gates in London's defensive wall. The street continues as the ancient Roman road called Ermine Street to Lincoln and York. The gate was located around the Bishopsgate's junction with Wormwood Street, so around the place the photo was made. The site of this former gate is marked by a stone bishop's mitre, fixed high upon a building here facing the Heron Tower. St Ethelburgas was rebuilt (the small building in the middle of the background), functioning not just as a church but also as home to the St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace charity.
