Lubin (Lüben) – a rusty city
The most well-known part of the LGOM, that is actually know for that (Legnica is more known as a relatively larger city in the Lower Silesia that used to be a seat of a smaller voivodeship). It is, after all, the seat of the KGHM Polska Miedź Company, that runs all copper mines in the region. The copper region and company are truly the gold mines of the city – before in 1957 the copper ore deposits were discovered, it was rather smaller (and it was highly destroyed during the Second World War anyway), but the copper brought prosperity, a lot of civilization (KGHM built the majority of the city's infrastructure) and it is still visible today – the city, however in many way unappealing and filled with commieblocks, is relatively well cared for and provide many services to its citizens. The city also has a football club that is well-paid and is in the highest rank of the Polish football league (Ekstraklasa). It also has a free public transportation, but it is at most mdiocre. It is much better to charge for rides but provide a better service.
