Part 4 – Stadtmuseum Eupen
The city museum of Eupen, but to be honest, it's more a museum of the region. It describes the political history of Eupen and Ostbelgium (as well as other history of the area, but it's not my interest). Ostbelgien consists of 9 municipalities of so-called East Cantons (or Eupen-Malmedy area), the area that was part of Germany and was given to Belgium after World War I (annexed after a controversial referendum in 1920, becoming part of Liège Province in 1925). Now Ostbelgien is a so-called German-speaking Community of Belgium, which is one of the three federal communities (one of the two separate types of federal entities in Belgium).
